A firewood business with experience

Vedkillen was founded in 2005 with a simple idea: to make it easy to buy good firewood without having to carry it home yourself. Since then, we have delivered birch firewood to tens of thousands of customers and built a business focused on personal service, quality products, and reliable deliveries.

Since 2026, Vedkillen has been run by new owners with a background in Qvarnsjö Skogstjänster and Ved of Sweden. This gives Vedkillen a close connection to the forest, the raw material, and the production of the firewood we deliver to your home.

Our birch firewood is produced at our own factory in Jämtland, where Swedish birch raw material is cut, split, dried, and packaged before the firewood is delivered to your home. This makes it easier for us to control and ensure quality from raw material to finished firewood sack.

Vedkillen is still Vedkillen. We are building on what has worked since 2005 and simultaneously developing the business to make it even easier for you as a customer to get high-quality birch firewood delivered to your home.

From forest and raw material to finished firewood sack

Experience throughout the chain

Qvarnsjö Skogstjänster was started in 1999 and works with forestry management such as planting, clearing, and other forestry services. Firewood production grew out of the business, and the factory in Rätan has been in operation since 2009.

Today, Vedkillen's birch firewood is produced at Ved of Sweden's factory in Jämtland. There, Swedish birch firewood is cut, split, dried, and packaged for households and resellers. Production takes place year-round, and the timber dryers are heated with wood waste from their own production.

This background gives us something we believe is important: knowledge of the product long before the sack reaches the customer. We work closely with the raw material, production, logistics, and final delivery.

New owners since 2026

2005 to today

When Vedkillen got new owners in 2026, the goal was not to change the business for the sake of it. Vedkillen has been around for a long time, has an established customer base, and a simple idea that still works: good firewood should be easy to order, and delivery should be smooth.

We want to keep that. At the same time, we are working on things that can be improved – from production and storage to delivery planning, customer service, and the digital purchasing experience.

Vedkillen therefore continues as Vedkillen. The difference is that the business now has an ownership group with direct experience in forestry and firewood production through Qvarnsjö Skogstjänster and Ved of Sweden.

A simple deal, done properly

Firewood doesn't need to be more complicated than it is. The customer should know what is being ordered, where the wood comes from, and how it gets home.

Swedish raw material

Our birch firewood is produced in Jämtland from Swedish raw material. For us, origin and a close connection to the forest are a natural part of the product.

Control over production

The firewood is cut, split, dried, and packaged at the factory in Rätan. This gives us knowledge of the entire process from raw material to finished sack.

Vedkillen's task is to make the step from order to filled firewood storage as simple and clear as possible.
